“ We spent last Summer in Leeds and discovered Trattoria Il Forno from the waiter at another Italian place. All I can say is that the pizza here is amazing! My friends and I were here regularly and the food has always been top notch. So far the Spaghetti Carbonara is the best I've ever had in my life. Trattoria Il Forno know pizza, and their authentic wood-fired oven sure helps them deliver. The neopolitan style bases are perfectly chewy with well-chosen toppings and a HUGE menu. “ Checked this 2 week old pizzeria and gelateria for the first time today on the back of some rave reviews on Facebook. It was a very worthwhile visit, as we enjoy a good pizza and have recently moved to Horsforth. I decided to try the Carne 12" and my wife went for a lighter stromboli as she was merely peckish. They stocked the seemingly ubiquitous San Pellegrino range of fizzy fruity beverages and we originally thought we were in a Horsforth version of the excellent Ecco Pizzeria in Headingley. Once the pizza came, we soon saw the comparisons end. It was frankly amazing, knocking even Ecco into a cocked hat. The pizza sauce was like a mild arriabata, zingy and the quality toppings that would put most pizzerias in Italy to shame. Really great salami, peperoni, ham and yummy bolognese sauce. My wife had goats cheese, courgettes and artichokes in her small folded pizza base and remarked on the clarity of each flavour. We finished with a sample of the gelato and seriously were knocked out by the quality. We were whisked to memories of San Gimignano (sp) in the Autumn sunshine. Rare to find proper gelato in Leeds. The coffee was also top notch with my double espresso being smooth as you like with no grounds left to ruin the last sip. Expert brewing skills. Highly recommended Cafe with really reasonable prices. It's a family affair run by friendly folks. The waitress told us how her husband was the pizzaiola and had trained in Italy for 14 years, with high standards and concern for quality. Seriously go, you'll be a regular in no time. ”
